Epitalon (also known as Epithalon) is a synthetic tetrapeptide consisting of four amino acids — Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly — derived from Epithalamin, a natural polypeptide produced by the pineal gland. It is investigated in laboratory settings to explore telomerase activation, cellular longevity mechanisms and pineal gland regulatory pathways. First developed by Professor Vladimir Khavinson at the St. Petersburg Institute of Bioregulation and Gerontology, Epitalon has been the subject of extensive published scientific research and is one of the most comprehensively studied tetrapeptides in gerontological research literature.
